This picturesque mountain village is nestled in the foothills at approximately 8300 feet in elevation.  Red Feather Lakes is located only 45 miles NW of Fort Collins, a thriving community with a population of approximately 135,000, and home of the CSU Rams. (

Red Feather Lakes is completely surrounded by Roosevelt National Forest, (  A variety of recreational opportunities abound, such as hiking, biking, camping, fishing, hunting and horseback riding to name a few.

The real attraction to the Red Feather Lakes area are the over 20 lakes and a variety of streams associated with the North Fork of the Poudre river system that provide some of the best trout fishing along the front range of Colorado.  A large variety of trout species are stocked and it is not unusual to haul in 6 pounders or larger.  Affordable private fishing club memberships are available, in addition to plenty of public fishing with camping accommodations ( You’ll find this small mountain village has a huge fishing problem, and we need your help in properly thinning the fish population (although catch-and-release is always preferred).

Other short term arrangements or cabin rentals in the village area can be made at,, and at the Hill Top (a block from our office).  Also, check (a local dude ranch) or for lodging.

The Summit Real Estate and Marketing office services a large geographical area.  We list and sell property from the Poudre Canyon on the South, the Wyoming border to the North, I-25 to the East, and the Continental Divide to the West.

Other prominent mountain subdivisions in our area include

The village also provides for your basic necessities.  We have three Mom and Pops with gas and groceries, two liquor stores, a hardware store, five restaurants, the Larimer County Extension Library (, the US Post Office, and our own fire department.
